Its All Mine is a unique new map script from MFO@Mapster. There have been maps without various resources in the past, but this is the first without wood. This game's emphasis is on building your economy through the market, without cheap wood or food. Each player starts with only 3 nearby trees, 6 nearby sheep, 2 boars, 4 deer and the standard 6 berry bushes. There is NO other food on the map, there are no forests. There is an overabundance of gold and stone which can be traded at the market. If you screw up your early wood usage, you may be in serious trouble on this map, as there are only a couple of extra trees widely scattered on the map. You will need, to get to a sustainable economy in Feudal Age, 495 Wood(for 4 houses-120, one mill-100, 1 mine-100, and one market-175). There are 3 nearby trees at 100 Wood each, plus your starting 200 Wood, to give you the needed amount. Once Feudal Age is reached and a Market is built, then the plentiful gold and stone can be mined and converted to wood and food via the market. You will need to decide when to buy food directly, and when to buy wood for farms (which is slower but economically more viable in the long run). We developed the "Seven Commandments" to help you survive this unique start: *** 1) Thou shalt build a Mill and Mining Camp for thy buildings in Dark. *** 2) Thou shalt build a Market as thy first building in Feudal. *** 3) Thou shalt not build a Barracks in Dark. *** 4) Thou shalt not build any military building before thy Market. *** 5) Thou shalt not build any Lumber Camp. *** 6) Thou shalt not waste any wood on farms before thou hast built thy Market. *** 7) Thou shalt not reassign thy woodcutters without first dropping off their precious wood. Of course, some civs have a slight difference. The Huns are the ONLY civ that might consider building a Barracks and another building in Dark Age, since they save 120 wood from their houses(Barracks 200 Wood, Mill or Mine at 100, Market 175 for a total of 475 Wood needed). And although the Japanese save wood on their Mill or Mine that might allow them to get a Barracks up sooner in Feudal Age, they cannot realistically do it in Dark unless they cut back on the number of Vills and Houses (Barracks 200, Mill or Mine 50, Market 175 gives a total of 425 Wood, allowing enough for only 2 Houses or 15 Villagers total). The Mayans gain a little more wood from their trees, but not enough to allow them a Barracks in Dark. Which other civs have an advantage on this map? As always, the Chinese and Mayans are among the best. The Britons must be reckoned with because their cheaper TCs really mean something in this map. The Turks and Koreans each have bonuses on the only resources. The Vikings and Aztecs get their bonuses, which are smaller in magnitude without much wood cutting. And the Saracen's market bonus is a true force on this map!
